Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Murilo Hartmann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kurt Wagner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Murilo Hartmann!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kurt Wagner!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Emerson Jorge and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hartmann pushes Wagner up against the cage in a clinch.
Hartmann wants to take the fight to the mat but Wagner manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Hartmann wants to break free but Wagner has control.

Hartmann manages to pull guard.
Wagner lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Wagner not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Hartmann on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hartmann tries to get out of the position.

We're going to have a standup here because Murilo Hartmann wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Hartmann shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Wagner as he avoids it easily.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Murilo Hartmann. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Wagner tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hartmann knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Wagner is nestled in close to Hartmann, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hartmann is staying active underneath Wagner, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Wagner has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Wagner seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Wagner connects with a nice short shot to Hartmann's temple.

Hartmann is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Wagner defends well.
Wagner is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Wagner won't allow Hartmann to sweep him here.
Hartmann will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

and Wagner counters with a shoot takedown. Hartmann fights it but they end up in guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wagner accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Wagner stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hartmann swivels though and keeps the full guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hartmann tries to close the distance and clinch up but Wagner swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Hartmann pushes Wagner off looking to stand but Wagner dives back in and keeps control.

Wagner working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Wagner wants to free his trapped foot but Hartmann is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Wagner looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hartmann with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Wagner slips a nice elbow through Hartmann's hands, connecting with Hartmann's forehead.
Wagner is trying to control the action in half guard but Hartmann is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Kurt Wagner has got the better of the ground game so far.

Wagner looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hartmann with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.


Hartmann is rocked!
Wagner lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Hartmann! More strikes land and this one is all over! Wagner jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kurt Wagner!
Kurt Wagner seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
