The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Alves.
No luck for Alves with that takedown attempt.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Dzoko.
Alves scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Dzoko stops Alves from passing to mount.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dzoko is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alves takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Alves has hold of Dzoko's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Dzoko manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Alves lands with some strikes.

Dzoko tries to hold on but Alves pushes him away.
