And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Donald Grub and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diablo fails with the takedown
and Beckenbauer counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Diablo's guard now.
Diablo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Beckenbauer is aware though and is defending well.
Diablo isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Beckenbauer stacks Diablo on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Beckenbauer!
Beckenbauer in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Diablo is looking to reverse the position.
Beckenbauer looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Beckenbauer thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Diablo is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Diablo is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Beckenbauer tries to move to mount but Diablo blocks the move with his legs.

Beckenbauer tries for a kimura but Diablo is defending well.
Diablo is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Beckenbauer's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Beckenbauer is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Diablo is just riding it out for now. Beckenbauer eventually gives up the hold.

Diablo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Beckenbauer rolls with it to try and escape but Diablo cranks on the arm and Beckenbauer is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
