PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Courtney Upshaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lou Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Upshaw comes to the cage accompanied by Retaliation. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Upshaw throws a hook but Williams avoids it easily.

Upshaw drops Williams with a nice combination! Upshaw dives into Williams's guard, looking to finish!

Williams is rocked!

It looks like Lou Williams has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Upshaw seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Williams looking to control.
Upshaw not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Courtney Upshaw.

Upshaw drives through and clinches with Williams against the cage.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Upshaw takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Upshaw lands with a short shot to the head.

Upshaw breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Upshaw tests Williams's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Williams slips a straight right by Upshaw.
Williams misses with a takedown
and Upshaw cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Williams fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Upshaw avoids it really well and circles away.
Both fighters circle each other, looking for something big. Upshaw moves in and throws an overhand right. That hurt Williams! Upshaw continues to tee off on Williams, landing with a left and a right! Upshaw connects with a right hand that leaves Williams sleeping against the cage! What a finish by Upshaw!
