PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Kron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kron kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Iron Maiden - Deja Vu. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Felipe Paraventi and Paulo Santos.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kron throws the kick towards the body but Silva avoids it.
Kron closes the distance and clinches up with Silva, looking for a takedown. Kron pushes Silva against the cage but Silva circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Silva shoots in and bounces Kron off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Silva wants to control from the top but Kron keeps moving.
Silva wants to pass the guard but Kron is keeping the position.
Silva won't allow Kron to sweep him here.
Kron can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Silva controls the pace.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mario Silva was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Silva shoots for a takedown but Kron saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Kron lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Silva has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Silva and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Silva tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kron swivels and escapes.
Kron moves to clinch but Silva breaks away

and Silva counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kron won't be happy with that.
Kron is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Silva off and has taken his back!
Kron is not going to allow Silva to sit and survive in this position.
Silva tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kron has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Silva is proving hard to escape from.

Kron connects with a solid leg kick.

Silva feints and as Kron raises his hands in defense, Silva changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Silva stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kron swivels though and keeps the full guard.
