Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Miguel Fernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Klein East (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fernandez kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Oh My God That's The Greatest Song In The World Ever!! . East has chosen Cold as Ice- M.O.P. as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Miguel Fernandez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 33 - 18 - 1, fighting out of New York, Klein East!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Steve Montenegro and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
East fails to land with a series of punches.

East has taken the fight to the clinch.
Fernandez has a couple of punches blocked by East.
East can't break the clinch.
Fernandez wants to stall.
Maybe Fernandez would be better served going for some more strikes rather than trying to control so much.

East jumps guard and drags Fernandez to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
East controls Fernandez momentarily but Fernandez frees himself.
East tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Fernandez avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
East is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fernandez has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

East has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Fernandez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

East manages to work his way to half guard, despite Fernandez's best efforts.

Fernandez seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but East does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
East wants to control but Fernandez is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Fernandez is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
East wants to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Klein East will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


East looks to throw the jab but Fernandez is out of range.
Fernandez digs a good hook to East's body.
East attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Fernandez keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
East bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
East misses with a hook.
East throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
East shoots in looking for a takedown but Fernandez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing East's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
East throws a hook to the side of Fernandez's head but Fernandez sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
A low kick from East is predictable there
and Fernandez counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps East thinking.

and Fernandez makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fernandez is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

East breaks from the clinch.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
East misses the body punch
and Fernandez counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
East is breathing heavily.
East scores with a nice head shot.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Fernandez is looking to wear down East with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
East tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Fernandez paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Fernandez's jab looks to have found its range, popping East under the eye.
Fernandez scores with a leg kick.
East drops his hands momentarily and Fernandez takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Fernandez fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Miguel Fernandez is winning the standup battle so far.
East tried to score with a low kick but Fernandez checks it.
Fernandez ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

East drops his hands momentarily and Fernandez takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Klein East seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
East on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Fernandez drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks East right on the button. East goes down! Fernandez follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Fernandez gets the win via TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Miguel Fernandez!
Miguel Fernandez tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
