Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mookie Hamfist (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson has chosen lunatic fringe as his entrance music. Michael Johnson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mookie Hamfist!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Michael Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hamfist swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Johnson takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Hamfist falls off balance throwing a combination
and Johnson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Johnson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hamfist tries to avoid it but Johnson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hamfist to the ground. Hamfist escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Johnson has a takedown stuffed.
Hamfist throws a sloppy head kick

and Johnson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hamfist scores with a few weak punches.
Johnson working over Hamfist with some ground and pound. Hamfist looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Hamfist actively working from the bottom here.
Johnson thows a huge punch but Hamfist dodges it nicely.
Hamfist is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hamfist is doing well to control the position and prevent Johnson from advancing to side control.
Johnson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Hamfist is staying active underneath Johnson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Hamfist tries to get to full guard but Johnson has control of the leg.

Johnson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hamfist has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Johnson has managed to get both his arms back between Hamfist's legs - danger averted.

Hamfist is looking for a sweep. Johnson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Johnson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hamfist with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Johnson is keen to just control but Hamfist is a slippery customer.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Johnson trying to control the position from guard on top but Hamfist is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Hamfist is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

The ref stands the fighters back up. Michael Johnson was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Johnson looking to score a takedown here. Hamfist is defending well but Johnson drives through and ends up in Hamfist's guard.
Johnson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Johnson is squirming around, avoiding Hamfist's attempts to control the action.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Hamfist pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.


Johnson is rocked!

Hamfist has hold of Johnson's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Johnson manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Johnson is still in real trouble! Can Hamfist finish him?
Hamfist postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Johnson badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Hamfist around the waist but Hamfist pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Hamfist is the winner by TKO! Hamfist jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mookie Hamfist!
In his post fight interview, Mookie Hamfist started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
