The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kincade uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Smith.
Kincade throws a push kick but Smith slaps the foot to one side.
Kincade thows a left - swing and a miss!
Kincade connects with a body shot.
A telegraphed right hand from Smith misses the target.
Smith lands a nice shot that snaps Kincade's head back.
Kincade fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Smith looks for a takedown but Kincade sprawls well.
Smith fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Smith connects with a right hand. Kincade shakes it off.
Cory Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith lands an overhand right.
Kincade throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Kincade avoids the body shot from Smith.

Smith throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Kincade buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Smith gets a takedown into half guard.
Kincade trying to hold on to Smith's head to control him but Smith postures up.
Smith trying to control from half guard but Kincade is working away.
Smith perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Kincade keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Smith works his way into side control.
Smith wants to control but Kincade is keeping him busy.

Kincade tries to buck Smith off but Smith is having none of it.
Smith really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Kincade wants to control but Smith postures up.
Smith tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Smith thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
You can see the frustration on Kincade's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Smith is trying to get an arm triangle but Kincade is defending well.
Kincade is not content to let Smith control the position.

Kincade takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Smith tries for a kimura but Kincade is defending well.
The strikes coming from Smith are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Kincade regains half guard, as Smith was trying to land strikes.
Smith seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kincade does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Kincade wants to control but Smith is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kincade has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Smith can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kincade had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Smith defends it easily.

Kincade walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Smith lunges at Kincade with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Kincade's hand.
Kincade wants to clinch.
Kincade throws a looping overhand right but Smith ducks down to avoid it.
Smith ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kincade moves away.
Smith rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kincade moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Smith ducks under a wild hook from Kincade.
Smith doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Smith looks to land a combination but Kincade avoids it well.
Rory Kincade is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Smith with a nice cross.
Kincade throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Kincade thuds his right hand into Smith's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Kincade misses with a wild body shot.
Smith is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Smith is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kincade.
Kincade blocks a low kick nicely.

Kincade scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Smith scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Smith throws a head kick but Kincade moves out of range.
Kincade feints and then cracks Smith's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Smith down.
Smith misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Kincade gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Kincade prevents Smith from breaking the clinch.
Kincade with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Smith lands a hook to the side of the head.
Smith misses with a punch on the inside.
Kincade's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Smith avoiding damage as Kincade throws knees to the body.
Kincade misses with a punch to the body.
Kincade tries a knee to the head but Smith blocks it.
A right handed body shot lands from Kincade.
Kincade is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Smith is defending well for now.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That was a close second round but I would say that Cory Smith will probably get the nod.

Kincade bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Smith's guard.

Smith is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kincade is aware though and is defending well.

Kincade throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Smith works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Smith keeping moving, preventing Kincade from controlling successfully.
Kincade postures up in Smith's guard and throws a big left but Smith blocks it.
Smith not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Smith is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Kincade slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Kincade working for a triangle but Smith defends it easily.
Smith stands and throws Kincade's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Cory Smith.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Smith, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
