The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Ackerman and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pulliainen looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Pulliainen looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Saarinen tries to get to full guard but Pulliainen has control of the leg.
Saarinen could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Saarinen looks like he's trying to stand up.
Pulliainen wants to stand up but Saarinen is controlling the position.
Saarinen is controlling Pulliainen's trapped leg to prevent Pulliainen from advancing to side control.

Pulliainen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Saarinen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Pulliainen wants to control the position but Saarinen says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Pulliainen is trying to control but can't.

Pulliainen has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Saarinen is working away from the top position though.
Saarinen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pulliainen does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Pulliainen tries to kick Saarinen off in order to stand up. Saarinen Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Pulliainen tries to buck Saarinen off but Saarinen is having none of it.

Pulliainen takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Saarinen thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
