The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McWimpy shoots in but Jackson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
McWimpy looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
A left and a right from Jackson both land. Nice combination.

It looks like Gimpy McWimpy has been cut.
McWimpy shoots for a double leg takedown but Jackson sprawls well. He's pushed McWimpy's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Peter Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gimpy McWimpy.
Jackson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jackson wants it to stay on the feet.

McWimpy takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Jackson lunges at McWimpy with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by McWimpy's hand.

and Jackson counters with a big head kick but McWimpy shrugs it off.
McWimpy shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
McWimpy fails to land with a series of punches.

McWimpy misses with a wild body shot.
McWimpy fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jackson avoids it really well and circles away.
Jackson shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. McWimpy eats them both and turns towards Jackson to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jackson throws a right and a left that McWimpy avoids nicely.
Peter Jackson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
McWimpy takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

McWimpy closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

McWimpy is looking to take a break and control but Jackson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

McWimpy is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jackson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McWimpy is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Jackson can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

McWimpy has isolated one of Jackson's arms. Jackson looking to fight him off but McWimpy twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
