Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Erwin Santan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
25 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Kjell Sword!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Santan is defended easily by Sword.
Santan has his takedown stuffed
and Sword counters with a nice double leg into side control. Santan won't be happy with that.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Sword happy to just control the position for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sword prevents Santan from escaping the position.
Sword scores with a couple of short elbows.
Santan is working to avoid the ground and pound but Sword connects with a decent elbow.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sword lands a strong strike to the head of Santan. That's dazed him! Sword looking to finish here. Santan is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Sword lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Kjell Sword tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
