Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Doe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julio Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Doe kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is How could I just kill a man. Smith is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Criminal Minded. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith fails in his attempt to clinch.
Doe throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Smith swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

and Doe counters with an inside leg kick.
Doe swats away the attempt to clinch by Smith.
Doe lands with a cross.
Smith shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Doe but Doe pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Smith swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Doe.

Smith wants to take the fight to the mat but Doe manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Doe creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Smith wants to break the clinch but can't.
Smith stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Doe throws a head punch that misses.
Doe is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Doe misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Smith.
Doe has Smith pressed against the cage, preventing Smith from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Smith jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Doe walks away with a smile on his face. Smith gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Doe connects with a solid leg kick.
Smith jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Doe lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Smith falls off balance throwing a combination
and Doe counters with a solid body kick.
Smith takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
A combination from Smith does no damage.
Doe does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Smith lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Doe has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Doe and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
A looping hook to the body misses from Doe. Smith does a little dance to reset his feet.
Smith looks to land a combination but Doe avoids it well.
Smith swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Doe counters with a head kick. That will keep Smith thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

That kick from Doe tenderised Smith's leg. Smith is trying to keep his angry face on.

Julio Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Doe avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

and Doe counters with a nice low kick that buckles Smith's knee momentarily.
Smith throws a right and a left that Doe avoids nicely.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Oooooh!!! Doe has knocked Smith down with a huge combo! Doe steps away and waves a wobbly Smith back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Smith walks forward, straight into a front kick from Doe.
Smith is still on wobbly legs! Can Doe finish him?
John Doe is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Doe changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Smith seems to have recovered his senses.
Smith is breathing heavily.
Smith walks into a left hand.
Doe is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Smith can do to turn this around?

Doe throws a nice outside leg kick.
Doe moves in looking to clinch but Smith pushes him off.
Doe scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Smith stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Doe.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Doe throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Doe counters with a good, hard body kick but Smith shrugs it off.
Smith's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Doe lands with an overhand left.
Doe fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Smith has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Good leg kick by Doe there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Doe throws a sloppy head kick and Smith moves out of range easily.
Doe lands a slapping body shot.

Doe forces Smith back against the cage and clinches.
Smith drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Doe gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Doe lands with a left to the head.
Doe lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Doe scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Doe lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Doe creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Smith with a big uppercut! Smith tries to clinch up but Doe pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Smith to the mat! Smith covers up and Doe unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

John Doe bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
