Obusan comes to the cage accompanied by Frontlines by Diabolic feat. Immortal Technique. Myron Obusan could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Sammy Sway's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Myron Obusan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sammy Sway!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Ryoma Takatsuka and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sway darts in trying to clinch

and Obusan counters by moving into the clinch.
Obusan lands with a light punch inside.
Sway's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Obusan works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Obusan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sway has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Obusan has managed to get both his arms back between Sway's legs - danger averted.
Obusan slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Obusan has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Myron Obusan.
Obusan wants to slow Sway down by chopping away at his legs.

Obusan darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Sway trying to control from the bottom.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Obusan decides to stand up, so the ref orders Sway to his feet.

Obusan shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sway's guard.
Sway wants to stand up but Obusan is controlling him.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Sammy Sway has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Sway throws a big shot that misses.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Obusan has closed the distance and engaged Sway in a clinch.
Obusan lands an uppercut.

Obusan lands a takedown into guard.

Sway is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Obusan postures up.

Sway looking for a guillotine here but Obusan defends easily.

Obusan seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Myron Obusan.

and Obusan takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Sway looks to clinch
and Obusan connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.


It looks like Sammy Sway has been cut.

and Obusan counters with a single leg into guard. Sway didn't expect that.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Obusan stands up from Sway's guard - Obusan perhaps looking for a knockout.
Obusan lands a leg kick that knocks Sway off balance momentarily.
Sway looks to clinch

and Obusan counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Obusan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sway can do to turn this around?
Obusan stops Sway from getting back to his feet.
Sway is breathing heavily.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Sway misses with a wild body shot.

Obusan drives through with a takedown into Sway's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Sway stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Obusan.

Obusan drives through and clinches with Sway against the cage.
Sway tries to pull guard but Obusan holds him up against the cage and eventually Sway drops back down to his feet.
Sway letting Obusan take a breather here.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Sway wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Obusan gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Obusan performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Obusan stands up from half guard.

Obusan clinches up against the cage.
Sammy Sway has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Sway looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Obusan has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Sway clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Sway looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Obusan controlling the position well here. Sway rolled but Obusan kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Obusan's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Myron Obusan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Sway is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Sway is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Obusan.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Myron Obusan just wasn't active enough.

Obusan is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Sway can't fight it off and eventually Obusan manages to take the fight to the floor. Sway looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Sway looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Obusan passes into side control.

And that's the end of the fight!
Myron Obusan showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Obusan has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
