Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jason Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Francis Drake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Francis Drake looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Jason Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Francis Drake!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Phil Schofield and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drake dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Miller drives through and clinches with Drake against the cage.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Miller tries to score a body lock takedown but Drake shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Drake pulls guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Miller wants to control from the top but Drake keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Drake working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Miller.
Drake keeping moving, preventing Miller from controlling successfully.

Drake working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Miller doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Miller manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Drake avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Drake is looking to sweep but instead, Miller has passed into half guard.

Miller seems to be working for a kimura but Drake defends the submission attempt.
Drake is looking to get back to full guard here but Miller has managed to pass to side control instead.
Miller works to advance to full mount. Drake defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Drake tries to lock up and control but Miller gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Miller lands a big shot there that rocks Drake but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Drake tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Drake fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Francis Drake seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Drake shoots in for a double leg but Miller sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

and Miller holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Miller looking for a takedown.
Miller tries to pull guard but Drake won't allow it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jason Miller. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Drake breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Miller really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Miller changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Drake looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Drake is looking for a sweep.

Miller is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Drake knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Drake's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Drake is trying to stick to Miller's back but Miller is turning into Drake. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Drake's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Miller.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Drake can do anything to dispel that myth.
Miller has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jason Miller.

Drake has closed the distance and engaged Miller in a clinch.
Drake jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Miller walks away with a smile on his face. Drake gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
The fight stays on the outside here - Drake looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Miller tries to pull guard but Drake forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Drake tries to throw a body punch but Miller avoids it by throwing Drake back against the cage.
Miller changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Drake fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Miller gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Drake to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Drake is looking to work some ground and pound but Miller has wrist control.
Drake wants to control from the top but Miller keeps moving.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Miller manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Drake manages to get himself to full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The ground and pound from Miller seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Drake sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Miller is looking to take a break and control but Drake is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Miller is taking a breather. Drake says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Miller wants to control but Drake is keeping him busy.

We're going to have a standup here because Jason Miller wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Drake tries to clinch there but Miller circles away.
Drake dives in and grabs Miller's left leg, looking for a takedown. Miller pushes down on Drake's head and hops out.

Miller is looking to control Drake's arms but Drake gets an underhook and turns him. Now Miller has his back to the cage.

Miller tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Drake swivels and escapes.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Drake moves in looking to clinch but Miller pushes him off.
Miller uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Drake.
Drake tries to clinch up but Miller circles away and keeps his distance.

Drake throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Miller shoots in looking for a takedown but Drake manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Miller's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

and Miller counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Miller.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
