Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Marty Laguna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nogi Kartov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laguna stuffs the takedown.
Kartov closes the distance but Laguna moves to the side
and Kartov takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Kartov shoots in for a double leg but Laguna sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Kartov shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Laguna as he jumps to the side.
Horrible takedown by Kartov or perhaps it was just good defense by Laguna which made him look bad.
Kartov throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Laguna's waist but Laguna gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kartov off to one side.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kartov is defended easily by Laguna.

Kartov has closed the distance and engaged Laguna in a clinch.
Kartov can't find room to land a body shot as Laguna controls the action.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Laguna just misses with a elbow thrown towards Kartov's brow.

Kartov tries to clinch but Laguna is having none of it.

and Kartov counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Laguna's guard now.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Kartov wants to control from the top but Laguna keeps moving.

Laguna kicks Kartov off and gets to his feet.
Laguna wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Laguna stuffs the takedown.
Laguna scores with a hook to the body. Kartov takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Marty Laguna is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Kartov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Nogi Kartov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kartov shoots in looking for a takedown but Laguna manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kartov's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
