The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anchorez takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
It looks like Paulo Anchorez has been cut.
Anchorez swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Anchorez misses with a takedown attempt - Hughes sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Hughes tests Anchorez's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Anchorez takes a swing at Hughes's ribcage but misses.

and Hughes counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Anchorez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hughes moves away.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Anchorez drops his hands momentarily and Hughes takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Hughes keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Anchorez throws a predictable looking body shot
and Hughes makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Hughes will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Hughes lands with a hook. Anchorez tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Hughes lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and Anchorez falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!
