The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Summer Carpenter and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aquino shoots in but James avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Aquino looks to land a body kick but James moved away.
James keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Nice defenses there by James.
Some wild striking there from James.
Benigno Aquino seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
James avoids a punch combination nicely.
James throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Aquino's waist but Aquino gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing James off to one side.

Aquino walks forward, straight into a front kick from James.

Aquino misses with a few strikes there.

and James counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
James is looking to clinch.
Aquino misses with a few strikes there.

Aquino pulls out of a head kick attempt.

James moves out of range of the strikes.
James looks to land a combination but Aquino avoids it well.

Aquino shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. James defends it nicely.
James leaves Aquino with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
James uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Aquino.

James lands a head kick. Aquino smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

and James counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
James is working for a kimura but Aquino is defending it quite comfortably.
Aquino wants to control but James is keeping busy.
James not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Aquino shoots in for a double leg but James sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Aquino shoots for a takedown but James saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Aquino throws a leg kick but James checks it.

James slips under a jab.
Aquino takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Aquino throws a half hearted mid kick.
James is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

Aquino ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Aquino doesn't succeed with the takedown
and James connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Aquino looks winded!
James cracks Aquino with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

and James counters with a stiff right hand.

Aquino is still on wobbly legs! Can James finish him?
Aquino scores with a jab. James acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Aquino seems to have recovered his senses.
James tests Aquino's chin there with a solid looking shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Devon James dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Aquino shoots in for a takedown but James shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
James lands with a big left! Aquino is wobbled badly! James comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Aquino to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
