PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roy Bull (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Eighteen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bull comes to the cage accompanied by Black Label Society - Fire It Up. Dave Eighteen told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roy Bull!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dave Eighteen!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Paul Gruel and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A chopping leg kick lands by Bull.
Bull looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Eighteen ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bull moves away.
A telegraphed right hand from Bull misses the target.
Eighteen is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Nice straight punches there by Eighteen. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Eighteen.
Bull cracks Eighteen with an open hand slap.
Bull thows a body shot but no joy.
Bull lands a lovely overhand right.
Eighteen throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Eighteen slips a jab from Bull.
Bull checks a leg kick nicely.
Bull thuds a left hand into Eighteen's body.
Bull throws a looping overhand right but Eighteen ducks down to avoid it.

Bull is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Eighteen's half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Eighteen keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bull missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Bull tries to pass to full mount but Eighteen defends it.
Bull thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Bull missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Bull drops an elbow to the side of Eighteen's head.
Bull controlling the pace.
Eighteen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bull. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Eighteen is holding on to half guard well.
Bull working over Eighteen with some ground and pound. Eighteen looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Bull takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Bull throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Bull is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Eighteen keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Bull is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Eighteen is in trouble now - Bull has advanced to mount!
Eighteen wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Bull.
Eighteen is trying to escape the mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Eighteen wants to control but Bull is having none of it.
Bull working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Bull has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Bull in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Bull lands a nice shot to the head.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Eighteen taking shots to the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bull unloads with some shots from mount but Eighteen bucks and avoids them well.
Bull avoids the attempt from Eighteen to control.
Bull postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Eighteen bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Bull and the fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Roy Bull!
After winning the bout, Roy Bull thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
