Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jackson Ryan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sam Samuels!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Colin Fray and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryan shoots in looking for a takedown but Samuels manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ryan's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ryan is defended easily by Samuels.
Ryan shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Samuels eats them both and turns towards Ryan to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Ryan shoots in and drives through. Samuels sprawls well.

Ryan closes the distance and clinches up with Samuels, looking for a takedown. Ryan pushes Samuels against the cage but Samuels circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Samuels enables Ryan to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Samuels manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Samuels is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ryan is aware though and is defending well.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Samuels escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ryan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Samuels pushes a forearm under Ryan's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Ryan is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
