PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rasheed Willis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Horace Buckle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Willis comes to the cage accompanied by Kendrick Lamar - HiiiPower. On his way into the cage it seems that Rasheed Willis has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Rasheed Willis seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 1, fighting out of New York, Rasheed Willis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 1, fighting out of New York, Horace Buckle!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Jorge Garcia and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buckle doesn't manage to clinch there - Willis circles away.
Willis shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Buckle pinned against the cage. Buckle gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Willis swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Buckle misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Willis looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Buckle fails with a takedown attempt.
Buckle tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Willis lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Buckle circles away quickly and effectively.
Willis swats away the attempt to clinch by Buckle.
Buckle misses with a two punch combination.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Buckle throws a sloppy head kick and Willis moves out of range easily.
Buckle tries to close the distance and clinch but Willis swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Willis looking to score a takedown here. Buckle is defending well but Willis drives through and ends up in Buckle's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Willis passes Buckle's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Willis missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Buckle tries to get to full guard but Willis has control of the leg.
Willis throwing shots but Buckle is blocking nicely.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Willis in particular looking to stall.

Buckle keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Willis wants to pass the guard but Buckle is defending well.
Buckle gets back to full guard.
Willis wants to control from the top but Buckle keeps moving.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Buckle looking to hit a scissor sweep but Willis is one step ahead there.

Buckle trying to keep a closed guard but Willis is proving a slippery customer.
Willis throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Buckle wants to sweep here but Willis controlling him for the moment.
Willis throws a strike but Buckle rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Buckle working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Willis manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Buckle is staying active underneath Willis, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Willis wants to take a breather but Buckle is having none of it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Willis is looking to stall here but Buckle recovers full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Buckle moves out of range as Willis strikes.
Horrible takedown by Buckle or perhaps it was just good defense by Willis which made him look bad.
Willis will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Willis tries to work over Buckle's front leg with a kick but Buckle checks it.

and Willis counters with a slapping leg kick.
Buckle moves to clinch but Willis breaks away
and Willis counters with a series of strikes. Buckle will be more careful next time no doubt.
Willis takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Willis shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Buckle as he jumps to the side.
Willis shoots in but Buckle avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rasheed Willis. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Willis shoots and misses
and Buckle counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Willis cracks Buckle with an open hand slap.
Buckle misses with a double jab.
Buckle throws a lazy right hand but Willis sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Buckle moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Willis throws a shot from downtown. Buckle moves away and avoids it.
Buckle throws a right hand that Willis ducks under and follows up with a left that Willis also avoids with ease.
Willis throws a series of punches but Buckle avoids them all with ease.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Willis.
Buckle throws a wild body kick that Willis sees coming a mile off.

Willis ducks under a wild hook from Buckle.
Buckle is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Willis.
Buckle connects with a jab.
Buckle throws a head kick that half lands.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Buckle lands the left hand.
Buckle throws a nice head kick!
Buckle scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Horace Buckle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Willis throws a leg kick which misses Buckle's front leg but catches the back leg as Buckle tries to avoid it.
Buckle throws a series of strikes that have Willis backpedaling.
Willis looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Buckle is fending him off so far but Willis persists. Nope, Buckle circles away and we're back to standing.
Buckle ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Buckle shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Willis but Willis pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Buckle lands a nice leg kick that just misses Willis's sensitive parts.
Buckle tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Willis was well out of range. Poor timing from Buckle.
Willis fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Buckle tries to sprawl but Willis drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Willis tries to pass the half guard into mount. Buckle knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Willis is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Willis stalling away here and it's allowed Buckle to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Buckle is trying to control the position but Willis postures up.
Buckle might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Willis kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Willis passes Buckle's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Willis wants to take a breather but Buckle is having none of it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Buckle is looking to escape.
Willis wants to control but Buckle is keeping him busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Horace Buckle showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Willis throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Buckle tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Willis is in Buckle's guard.
Rasheed Willis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Willis's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Willis wants to control from the top but Buckle keeps moving.
Buckle wants to sweep here but Willis controlling him for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Buckle pushes Willis off and scrambles back to his feet.
Willis scores with a hook.
Willis shoots for a takedown but Buckle saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Willis tries to bum rush Buckle with a series of wild strikes but Buckle uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Buckle connects with a right hand. Willis shakes it off.
Buckle misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Rasheed Willis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Some wild striking there from Willis.
Buckle pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Buckle tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Willis paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Buckle throws a right and a left that Willis avoids nicely.
A bone on bone clash there as Willis blocks the leg kick.
Willis throws a quick inside leg kick.
Willis fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Willis displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Buckle throws out the jab.
Buckle fails to land the takedown.
Willis fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Buckle avoids it really well and circles away.
Willis throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Buckle bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Buckle moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Willis misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A jab from Buckle finds it's way through Willis's defenses.
Buckle throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Buckle tries to sprawl but Willis drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Willis is taking a breather. Buckle says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Buckle tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Willis manages to move to mount!
Willis lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Willis prevents Buckle from getting the reversal.
Willis looking to control and managing it successfully.
Willis is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Buckle can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Willis takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Willis scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
Buckle trying to get back to his feet but Willis is in full control for now.
Willis wants to control the position but Buckle frees himself and scrambles - Willis manages to regain control in side control.
Willis wants to control but Buckle is keeping him busy.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Willis wants to take a breather but Buckle manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Willis.
Willis trying to control the position from guard on top but Buckle is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

And that's the end of the fight!
Rasheed Willis showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Willis has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
