The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arona misses with a few strikes there.
Santana shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Arona pinned against the cage. Arona gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
A clash of legs there as Arona blocks the low kick.
Santana gets cracked there but stands up to it.

It looks like Diego Santana has been cut.
Arona thows a left - swing and a miss!
Arona displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Santana.
Arona scores with a jab to the body.
Arona swinging wildly here.
Santana shoots in but Arona avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Igor Arona has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Diego Santana.
Santana takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Arona counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Santana is defended easily by Arona.
Arona tries to bum rush Santana with a series of wild strikes but Santana uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Santana tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Arona was well out of range. Poor timing from Santana.
Santana avoids a punch combination nicely.
Arona lands with an uppercut that bounces Santana off the cage and back into range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Santana looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Arona defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Santana.
Santana misses with a wild body shot.
Arona feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Santanas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Santana fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Arona avoids it really well and circles away.
Arona misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Santana takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Santana gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Arona.
Santana shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Santana tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Arona swivels and escapes.
Santana takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Santana is rocked!
Santana shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Arona as he jumps to the side.
Santana looks winded!
Santana misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Santana shoots for a takedown but Arona saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Arona lands a big uppercut and Santana crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Santana looks OK. Arona waves Santana back to his feet!
Santana is still on wobbly legs! Can Arona finish him?
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Arona engages and cracks Santana with a massive lead left hook - Santana tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Arona is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
