Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Ackerman and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Finney, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Finney throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Finney misses with a series of wild punches.
Finney on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by maria. maria obviously looking to wear him down.
maria shoots in for a double leg but Finney sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
maria tries to clinch up but Finney circles away and keeps his distance.
maria closes the distance and clinches up with Finney, looking for a takedown. maria pushes Finney against the ropes but Finney circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Finney throws a right and a left that both miss.
maria tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
maria will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for tia maria. That's going to take a lot out of him.
maria closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
maria is controlling the pace.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

maria passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Finney!
Finney is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
maria jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Finney manages to avoid the submission attempt.
maria is breathing heavily.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Finney dodges the ground and pound from maria.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
maria tries to move into full mount but can't pass Finney's legs.
maria has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Finney fails to land the takedown.
Finney throws out a powerful jab.

maria shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Finney but Finney pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Finney doesn't manage to clinch there - maria circles away.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Nice takedown defense from Finney. No joy for maria on that attempt.
maria shoots in but Finney avoids the takedown attempt easily.
maria changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Finney looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
maria tries for a kimura but Finney is defending well.

Finney wants to get back to his feet but maria drags him back down.

Finney lands with a big left! maria is wobbled badly! Finney comes in with a flurry of punches and drops maria to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
