PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Arthur Rexum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sanex Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lewis has chosen Snoop DoGG as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sanex Lewis!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Wagner Zegers and Nard Betker.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rexum throws a nice looking combination but Lewis bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Sanex Lewis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rexum lands with a nice body punch.

Rexum gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Lewis to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rexum working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lewis doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lewis manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lewis thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Rexum is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Rexum knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lewis on the ground.
Lewis is looking for a sweep. Rexum is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Rexum tries to pass to full mount but Lewis defends it.

Lewis is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rexum pulls his head out easily.
Rexum is thwarting Lewis's attempts to control the position.

Rexum is looking to advance position but Lewis won't allow it.

Rexum is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lewis is just riding it out for now. Rexum eventually gives up the hold.

Lewis actively working from the bottom here.

Rexum is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Rexum wants to pass the guard but Lewis is defending well.
Rexum prevents Lewis from improving his position.
Rexum missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Rexum is working for a kimura here but Lewis manages to reverse the position and he's now in Rexum's guard.
Rexum tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Rexum lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Lewis!

Rexum goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Lewis turns into him and now he's in Rexum's guard.
Lewis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rexum swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Rexum has his foot on Lewis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lewis works his way back into a safe position though.
Lewis tries to free his leg and advance position but Rexum is retaining full guard.
Rexum is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Rexum controls Lewis momentarily but Lewis frees himself.
Lewis slips nicely into half guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Rexum misses with a takedown attempt

and Lewis counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Rexum is trying to get back to full guard.
Lewis passes to full mount!
Rexum is trying desperately to improve position.
Lewis lands a big shot there that rocks Rexum but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lewis working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Rexum turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Lewis off and cradles Rexum's limp body as Lewis celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Sanex Lewis!
Sanex Lewis bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
