PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Down (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Homer Simpson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Down comes into the arena with 311 Down blaring out of the sound system. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Homer Simpson!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Winston Howard and Damien Edna.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simpson throws a solid leg kick but Down takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Simpson.

Down closes the distance and clinches.

Down is trying to trip Simpson. He has hold of a leg but Simpson is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Down persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Simpson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Down.
Down knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Simpson on the ground.
Simpson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Down's guard.
Down throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Simpson passes Down's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Down manages to get to full guard.
Simpson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Down looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Down trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Down on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Down tries to get out of the position.

Down manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Simpson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Down postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Simpson looks a forlorn figure.
Down has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Simpson's face.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Down lands with some strikes.
Down cracks Simpson with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Down landing strikes from the mount and Simpson is in trouble!
Down connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Simpson is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Down cracks Simpson with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
