Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Minoru Suzuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Draven Lucas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Suzuki kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Kaze ni Nare. Minoru Suzuki could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Draven Lucas's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lucas gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Suzuki to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Suzuki wants to pass the guard but Lucas is keeping the position.

Suzuki drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Lucas dives on top into guard.
Suzuki looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lucas is one step ahead there.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Draven Lucas wasn't active enough on the ground.

Suzuki goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Lucas throws a combination. Suzuki tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Suzuki fails with an attempt to clinch.

Lucas tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Suzuki manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Lucas moves in looking to clinch but Suzuki pushes him off.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Suzuki postures up.
Suzuki wants to control from the top but Lucas keeps moving.

Suzuki drops back, looking for a kneebar! Lucas looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Lucas looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Lucas!

Suzuki looking to break Lucas's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Lucas remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Suzuki will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Suzuki is persistently looking for the submission but Lucas is defending it well.

Lucas gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Suzuki decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Suzuki is looking to advance position but Lucas won't allow it.

Suzuki is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lucas is just riding it out for now. Suzuki eventually gives up the hold.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lucas has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Suzuki is working away from the top position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Minoru Suzuki will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Suzuki closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lucas to the mat! Lucas manages to get full guard.

Suzuki staying busy and making it hard for Lucas to control.

Lucas has got one arm under Suzuki's chin. This could be trouble... Suzuki trying to control the other hand but Lucas gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Suzuki has tapped out! The fight is over!
