PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mirco Ivanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Moans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, John Moans!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Phil Schofield and Steven Brown.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moans tries for a takedown but Ivanov circles away easily
and Ivanov makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Moans with a poor takedown

and Ivanov counters by clinching up.
Moans tries to pull guard but Ivanov forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Mirco Ivanov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Moans.
Ivanov misses with a knee to the head.
Moans has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Ivanov is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Ivanov gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Moans regains guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Moans manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Moans lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ivanov tries to lock up and control but Moans gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Moans tries to control but Ivanov wriggling away.
Ivanov tries to hold on but Moans postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Moans has control of Ivanov's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Ivanov regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Ivanov avoids a series of strikes thrown by Moans.
Moans thowing shots but they're missing.
Ivanov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Moans on the ground.

Moans working for a guillotine from mount but Ivanov is in no mood to give up.

Ivanov has left one of his arms exposed and Moans doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Ivanov screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
