The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maldonado looks to score with a jab to the body but Bowens is just out of range.
Bowens shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Maldonado is trying to defend but Bowens finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Bowens wants to control but Maldonado is keeping him busy.

Bowens thows a huge punch but Maldonado dodges it nicely.

It looks like Cody Bowens has been cut.

Bowens looks up at the clock and then as Maldonado takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Bowens smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
