PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Cyril Figgus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ovca Namjera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ovca Namjera told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cyril Figgus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ovca Namjera!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Don Winkell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Figgus slips a jab and a cross from Namjera.
Figgus tries to clinch up.
Figgus wants to clinch up but Namjera keeps it at a distance.
Namjera connects with a jab.
Namjera scores with a one two! Figgus had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Namjera throws a hook to the side of Figgus's head but Figgus sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Namjera drives through with a takedown into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Namjera throws a big right hand that misses.
Namjera wants to pass the guard but Figgus is keeping the position.
Namjera won't allow Figgus to sweep him here.
Namjera passes into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Namjera wants to take a breather but Figgus is having none of it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Figgus is trying to get back to full guard.
Figgus knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Namjera on the ground.
Namjera works his way into full mount!
Namjera can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Figgus is looking to escape.
Figgus on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Figgus tries to get out of the position.

Namjera is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Figgus is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Figgus flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Namjera anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Figgus and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Namjera slips an arm under Figgus chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Namjera has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Namjera is squeezing on Figgus like an anaconda would it's prey. Figgus fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ovca Namjera!
Ovca Namjera was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
