The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tortiz shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tortiz content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Tortiz is tying to control. Empire wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Tortiz is taking a breather. Empire says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Tortiz throwing shots but Empire is blocking nicely.

Empire manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Tortiz fails with an attempt to clinch.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Tortiz.
Empire throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Empire misses with a takedown

and Tortiz counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Empire!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Tortiz working for a guillotine from mount but Empire is in no mood to give up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tortiz can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Empire is looking to escape.

Tortiz stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Empire closes the distance and lands a one-two.

and Empire counters with a big slam followed by a series of strikes - this one is all over!
