Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vril Dox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Todd Haiyes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vril Dox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Todd Haiyes!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dox misses with a leg kick

and Haiyes counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Dox!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Haiyes has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Dox has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Haiyes tries to keep control of the position but Dox is staying busy.

Haiyes throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Dox defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Haiyes's arms.

You can see the frustration on Dox's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Haiyes is looking to control Dox but Dox is wriggling around and keeping busy.

Haiyes is looking for the choke from the back position but Dox is controlling his hands well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Haiyes tries to get the hooks in deep but Dox pushed the leg off.

Todd Haiyes dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Dox throws a lazy body kick

and Haiyes holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Dox wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Haiyes has him pressed against the cage.
Haiyes tries to pull guard but Dox holds him up against the cage and eventually Haiyes drops back down to his feet.

Haiyes breaks from the clinch.
Dox swings for the body but Haiyes moves out of range.
Haiyes shoots in looking for a takedown but Dox manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Haiyes's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Dox throws a leg kick that is checked

and Haiyes counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Haiyes thows a huge punch but Dox dodges it nicely.

Haiyes postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Dox to stand up.
Todd Haiyes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dox misses with a leg kick.
Horrible takedown by Haiyes or perhaps it was just good defense by Dox which made him look bad.
Vril Dox has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Todd Haiyes.

Haiyes tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dox sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Haiyes somewhat.

Haiyes tries to stall but Dox uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Dox misses with a short punch on the inside.
Dox tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Haiyes's elbow.
Dox is trying to break the clinch but Haiyes is controlling him.

Haiyes's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Dox stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Haiyes.
Dox attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Dox throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Haiyes scores with a takedown into Dox's guard.
Haiyes stands and throws Dox's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Haiyes has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Haiyes gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Haiyes gets control of Dox's arms and successfully pulls guard. Haiyes will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Todd Haiyes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Haiyes manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Dox on his heels. He'll look to pass Dox's guard now, I'm sure.

Well Haiyes has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
