Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Heath Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Cerveny (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Wild International. Cerveny has chosen Johnny B Good as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Heath Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Johnny Cerveny!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cerveny works Smith's body with a nice hook.
Smith throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Cerveny gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Smith to score an easy takedown into full guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Smith looking to pass the guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Smith accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Smith is working Cerveny over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Smith postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Cerveny has momentary wrist control but Smith slips an elbow through the middle.

Smith wants to control from the top but Cerveny keeps moving.
Smith loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Smith throws a strike but Cerveny rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Smith wants to stand but Cerveny is controlling the position.
Cerveny wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving.

Smith not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Cerveny trying to control the position from guard on top but Smith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Smith wants to stand up but Cerveny is controlling him.

We're going to have a standup here because Heath Smith wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Smith will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Smith takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Cerveny throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Nice sprawl there from Cerveny as Smith shoots in.
Smith shoots in for a double leg but Cerveny sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Heath Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Smith.
Cerveny lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Smith shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cerveny but Cerveny pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Cerveny lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Johnny Cerveny is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Crunch! Cerveny slams his shin into Smith's torso.
Cerveny slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cerveny needs to keep his hands up - Smith had a free shot at his head there.

Smith throws a series of punches but Cerveny avoids them all with ease.
Smith is breathing heavily.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Cerveny.

Smith fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Cerveny lands a jab.
Smith misses with a low kick.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Smith shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Cerveny sprawls well. Cerveny wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Smith gets slowly back to his feet.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Smith fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cerveny avoids it really well and circles away.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Smith throws a nice looking combination but Cerveny bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Smith pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Cerveny ducks under a wild hook from Smith.
Smith throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Cerveny sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Cerveny throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Smith stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Cerveny lands a jab to Smith's midsection.

Cerveny misses with a looping right.
Heath Smith is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Nice straight punches there by Cerveny. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Cerveny.
Smith closes the distance and clinches up with Cerveny, looking for a takedown. Smith pushes Cerveny against the cage but Cerveny circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Heath Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Cerveny wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Smith walks forward, straight into a front kick from Cerveny.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Cerveny punishes Smith's body with a nice straight punch.

Cerveny tries to land a front kick but Smith steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Cerveny looks for the body kick but Smith saw that one coming.
Cerveny throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Smith closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Cerveny darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Smith throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Cerveny.
Smith takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
A head kick misses from Cerveny.
Cerveny defending well as Smith loads up on a big left hand.

Smith lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Cerveny has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Smith finds it's way round the side to connect with Cerveny's head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Smith dives in and grabs Cerveny's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cerveny pushes down on Smith's head and hops out.

Cerveny connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Smith's hands.

and Cerveny counters with a flying knee. Nice.


Smith is rocked!
Heath Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cerveny circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Smith drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Cerveny follows Smith to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Johnny Cerveny!
Johnny Cerveny was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
