Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Oscar Bergman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Aaron Connolly! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Chris Edwards and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Connolly tries to clinch up but Bergman circles away and keeps his distance. Connolly takes a kick to the side of the head. Connolly shoots in and drives through. Bergman sprawls well. Connolly wants to clinch. Bergman lands a nice leg kick that just misses Connolly's sensitive parts. Connolly closes the distance and clinches. Connolly's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Left hook, right uppercut from Bergman.
It looks like Aaron Connolly has been cut. Connolly misses with a takedown attempt - Bergman sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Connolly shoots for a takedown but Bergman saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Oscar Bergman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aaron Connolly.
That's one minute gone in the round. Connolly looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Connolly shoots in but no luck this time. Aaron Connolly seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice sprawl there from Bergman as Connolly shoots in. Connolly closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bergman circles away. Bergman lands with a thumping leg kick.
Connolly tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bergman was well out of range. Poor timing from Connolly. Connolly shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bergman but Bergman pushes him off and we're back to square one. Connolly falls off balance throwing a combination
and Bergman counters with a head kick. That will keep Connolly thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Bergman scores with a head kick. Connolly tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Bergman lands a head kick. Connolly smiles back at him and beckons him forward. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Connolly tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bergman was well out of range. Poor timing from Connolly.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bergman slaps away a takedown attempt from Connolly, before circling back to the center of the mat. Bergman works the jab nicely. Connolly fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Bergman circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Connolly drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Bergman follows Connolly to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
