Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tolegen Akylbekov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Antonio Alvarez!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez slips a jab and a cross from Akylbekov.
No joy there for Akylbekov, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Alvarez takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Akylbekov will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Alvarez decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Alvarez lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Akylbekov tries to get to full guard but Alvarez has control of the leg.
Akylbekov trying to hold on to Alvarez's head to control him but Alvarez postures up.
Alvarez looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Akylbekov with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Akylbekov is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Alvarez scores with a couple of nice shots.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Alvarez is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Akylbekov has managed to free his arm - good work.
Alvarez lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Alvarez lands a nice short elbow.
Alvarez looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Alvarez landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Alvarez connects with a nice short shot to Akylbekov's temple.


Akylbekov is rocked!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alvarez lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Akylbekov! More strikes land and this one is all over! Alvarez jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Antonio Alvarez!
