The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Sano and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rasmussen bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Murakami is trying to control Rasmussen's posture but Rasmussen avoids it.
Murakami is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Rasmussen in side control, throwing shots but Murakami defends.
Murakami is looking for a sweep.
Murakami manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Rasmussen sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Murakami defending well though.
Rasmussen is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Murakami wants to improve his position but Rasmussen is controlling well.

The fighters are battling for position here. Murakami manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Murakami is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Rasmussen has his hands clasped together but Murakami extends an breaks Rasmussen's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Murakami.
