Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dave Miles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christian De Ertu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Christian De Ertu will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dave Miles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Christian De Ertu!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Elvis Blanc and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Miles has closed the distance and engaged De Ertu in a clinch.

Miles pulls guard effortlessly.
De Ertu wants to pass the guard but Miles is keeping the position.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Miles holds on and takes a little breather.

Miles looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

De Ertu is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Miles is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Miles has escaped and now he's on top!

De Ertu is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Miles got a little sloppy there for a moment and De Ertu has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Miles has managed to get both his arms back between De Ertu's legs - danger averted.

De Ertu is trying to work for a kimura but Miles is defending well.

De Ertu looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

De Ertu slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

De Ertu is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Miles is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

De Ertu swings around for an armbar but Miles sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into De Ertu's guard.

Miles's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

A close second round but Christian De Ertu will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



De Ertu feints and as Miles raises his hands in defense, De Ertu changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Miles is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and De Ertu defends well.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Miles is on top in guard.
De Ertu looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Miles tries to free his leg and advance position but De Ertu is retaining full guard.
Miles seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Miles takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Miles seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but De Ertu does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Miles perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
De Ertu is staying active underneath Miles, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Dave Miles wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Miles shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. De Ertu manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Miles remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Well Miles has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
