PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hank Chinaski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chinaski kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Gustav Mahler - Symphony No. 9: Mov. 4. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hank Chinaski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rob Evans!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evans takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Nice defenses there by Evans.
Evans displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Chinaski.
Evans throws a shot from downtown. Chinaski moves away and avoids it.
Chinaski stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Evans.
Chinaski misses with a hook. Evans ducked under it nicely.
Evans tries to score with a low kick but Chinaski moves his leg out of the way.

Chinaski throws a series of punches but Evans moves out of range.

Chinaski feints and as Evans raises his hands in defense, Chinaski changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Chinaski is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Chinaski will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Chinaski wants to control from the top but Evans keeps moving.

We're going to have a standup here because Hank Chinaski wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Evans uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Chinaski.

Chinaski throws an overhand right that lands on Evans's shoulder, as Evans tries to avoid the shot.
Evans tries a head kick but it misses.
Evans stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Chinaski.
Chinaski throws a body punch but Evans moves out of range.
This has been an exciting period of action!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Evans needs to keep his hands up - Chinaski had a free shot at his head there.
Chinaski loads up on a big right hand but Evans slips the punch.
Nice uppercut lands for Chinaski. That snapped Evans's head back.
Evans avoids the head kick by Chinaski.
Chinaski throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Chinaski throws a lazy right hand but Evans sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Evans attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Chinaski tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Evans manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Chinaski is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Evans misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Chinaski misses with a hook.
Chinaski throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Evans avoids the head kick by Chinaski.

Evans takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Chinaski throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Evans stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Evans dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Chinaski. That did some damage!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Chinaski fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Some wild striking there from Evans.
Evans shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Chinaski as he jumps to the side.
Evans's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Chinaski connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Evans scrambles back to his feet.
Chinaski smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Evans takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Evans checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Nice straight punches there by Evans. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Evans.

And that's the end of the fight!
Hank Chinaski showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Chinaski has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
