Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sonny Boom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Hewson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sonny Boom!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Paul Hewson!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Gregory Folan and Alec Ball.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hewson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hewson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Boom sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Hewson misses with a series of wild punches.
Boom misses with a wild body shot.
Boom showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Hewson.
Boom keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Hewson fails to land the takedown.
Hewson on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Boom. Boom obviously looking to wear him down.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hewson. Boom does a little dance to reset his feet.

and Boom counters with a stiff right hand.

Boom instigates a clinch.

Boom is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Hewson is keeping busy.
Boom comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Boom swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Boom keeps control of Hewson as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
A frustrated look appears on Hewson's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Boom lands a damaging elbow.
Hewson blocks a body shot from Boom.

Hewson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hewson looks to throw the jab but Boom is out of range.
Hewson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Boom avoids it really well and circles away.
Sonny Boom has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Hewson.
Boom misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hewson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Boom moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Hewson lands with a nice body punch.
Hewson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Boom sprawls well. Boom wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hewson gets slowly back to his feet.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Boom, right into the meat.
Hewson misses with a right hand
and Boom counters with a flying knee. Nice.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Boom moves into the clinch.
Boom lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Boom stalling the fight.

Hewson breaks the clinch.
Hewson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Hewson throws a lazy uppercut
and Boom counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Hewson is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Hewson just misses with a punch to the body.
Hewson pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Boom pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Boom fails in his attempt to clinch.
Hewson misses with a few strikes there.
Hewson throws a looping overhand right but Boom ducks down to avoid it.
Hewson connects with a body shot that sends Boom's belly button to the back.
Boom looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Hewson throws a jab but it's blocked by Boom.

Boom fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hewson, pushing him back against the cage.
Hewson blocks a punch to the side of the head.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Hewson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Boom lands a high kick!
Boom slips a jab from Hewson.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Boom takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Boom walks into a left hand.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hewson throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Boom crashing down! Boom tries to stagger back to his feet but Hewson just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Boom asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Paul Hewson!
An intense looking Paul Hewson took to the microphone post fight and gave a little speech: 'Maybe I will actually get some fucking respect after this win. These org owners think they are fucking Gods, but let me tell you something, I'm a God. I'm a fucking God!'.
