The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hill pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hill tries to clinch up
and Wells counters by moving into the clinch.
Hill tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Wells just stands there and leans against the cage.
Hill fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Wells's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hill tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Wells paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Hill lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Hill avoids the head kick by Wells.
Hill misses with a takedown
and Wells counters with a takedown into side control.
Billy Wells has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Hill.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hill tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Wells has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Hill! Can he survive? No! He's out! Wells gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
