Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Flavio Marcelo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Kukushkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kukushkin is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Shufutinsky - White roses. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Sosuke Kotani and Yuuki Gou.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marcelo lands a nice leg kick that just misses Kukushkin's sensitive parts.
Kukushkin swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kukushkin moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Marcelo dodges the punch combination from Kukushkin.
Kukushkin misses with a shot to the body
and Marcelo counters with an outside leg kick.
Kukushkin misses with a wild combination.
Kukushkin misses with a left hand
and Marcelo counters with an outside leg kick.
Marcelo bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Kukushkin's head backwards.
Marcelo scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Marcelo pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Kukushkin gets tackled into the cage by Marcelo. Marcelo maintains the clinch.
Kukushkin is trying to break the clinch but Marcelo is controlling him.
Kukushkin wants to break free but Marcelo has control.

Marcelo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kukushkin dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Kukushkin misses with a straight left.

Marcelo showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kukushkin.
Marcelo throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Marcelo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kukushkin swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Marcelo misses with a looping right.
Marcelo tries to clinch there but Kukushkin circles away.
Marcelo misses with a head kick.
Marcelo throws a body punch but Kukushkin moves out of range.
Kukushkin scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Kukushkin blocks a head kick by Marcelo.
Kukushkin misses the shot to the body.
Marcelo connects with a solid leg kick.
Marcelo scores with a leg kick.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Marcelo. Kukushkin shrugs it off though.

Marcelo drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

It looks like Flavio Marcelo has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A combination from Kukushkin does no damage.
Marcelo uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kukushkin.
Kukushkin throws a nice looking combination but Marcelo bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Kukushkin jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Marcelo swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kukushkin walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Kukushkin lands with a cross.
Marcelo slips a straight right by Kukushkin.
Kukushkin throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Marcelo's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Kukushkin dives in looking to finish as Marcelo flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Kukushkin's strikes! Kukushkin is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Marcelo's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Marcelo was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

A less than humble Alex Kukushkin misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
