Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mark Kerr! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Felipe Paraventi and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kerr drives through with a takedown into Helmsley's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Helmsley had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kerr defends it easily. Kerr won't allow Helmsley to sweep him here. Kerr throwing strikes from guard but Helmsley blocks nicely. Kerr trying to stand up but can't free himself from Helmsley's guard. Helmsley is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. This has been an exciting period of action! Helmsley bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kerr's guard. Helmsley throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Kerr really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Helmsley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kerr has momentary wrist control but Helmsley slips an elbow through the middle. Helmsley is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Helmsley stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kerr swivels though and keeps the full guard. Kerr controls Helmsley momentarily but Helmsley frees himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Helmsley trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Helmsley working some strikes from top position. Helmsley scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Helmsley tries to free his leg and advance position but Kerr is retaining full guard. Helmsley trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Helmsley really is a fat lump. Helmsley throws a big elbow that misses. Kerr trying to control the position.
Helmsley is pushing down on Kerr's leg trying to pass to half guard. Kerr is fighting to maintain full guard but Helmsley has managed to sneak the leg through. Helmsley thows a huge punch but Kerr dodges it nicely.
Helmsley moves nicely into side control. Kerr is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Helmsley working the body and head with strikes. Helmsley in side control lands a decent elbow. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kerr can do anything to dispel that myth. Helmsley in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Kerr takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Helmsley landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Helmsley looks up at the clock and then as Kerr takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Helmsley smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

This has been an exciting period of action! Helmsley has hold of Kerr's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Kerr seems comfortable defending it but Helmsley has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Kerr is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Kerr is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Helmsley couldn't care less - he's delighted!
