The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hadith avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

The fighters circling - GKar throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

GKar bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hadith's guard.

Hadith wants to stand but GKar is controlling the position.

Hadith has his foot on GKar's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. GKar works his way back into a safe position though.
GKar must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Hadith has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but GKar can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hadith has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. GKar is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Hadith.
Hadith pushes GKar away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, GKar gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

GKar stands up and beckons Hadith to his feet.

Hadith dives in and grabs GKar's left leg, looking for a takedown. GKar pushes down on Hadith's head and hops out.

GKar throws a hook to the side of Hadith's head but Hadith sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
GKar misses with a series of wild punches.

Hadith throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. GKar tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hadith is in GKar's guard.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
GKar wants to control but Hadith is keeping busy.
