Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jose Da Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Filipy Mendes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Thiago Cunha and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendes with a lazy takedown attempt
and Da Silva decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Mendes's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Mendes is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Da Silva defends well.
Da Silva really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Da Silva drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Da Silva jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Mendes is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Da Silva to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Da Silva shrugs it off.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Da Silva sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
