The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ellis tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Blanco Rocha swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Blanco Rocha drops Ellis with a big knee straight up the middle! Ellis is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ellis feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Ellis is still in real trouble! Can Blanco Rocha finish him?
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Christina Ellis's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
