Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Seany Scholes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Tony Jaa!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Atkins and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jaa lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Scholes checks a leg kick.
Jaa misses with a jab, cross combination.

Jaa pushes Scholes up against the cage in a clinch.
Jaa misses with a knee to the head.

Scholes has picked Jaa up - he's going for a ride! Scholes dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Scholes is keen to just control but Jaa is a slippery customer.
Jaa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Scholes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Scholes is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Jaa has managed to free his arm - good work.
Jaa is staying active underneath Scholes, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Scholes passes to full mount!

Scholes jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Jaa is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Jaa and Scholes has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Scholes tries to advance position but instead Jaa slips a leg back in to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Scholes seems to be looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jaa has one foot on Scholes's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Jaa tries to clinch up but Scholes circles away and keeps his distance.
Tony Jaa is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jaa throws a left and a right that both miss

and Scholes counters with a shoot takedown. Jaa fights it but they end up in guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Seany Scholes wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Scholes closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jaa is trying to stand back up but Scholes is controlling him
Scholes is looking to advance position but Jaa won't allow it.
Jaa looks like he's trying to stand up.

Scholes is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jaa is just riding it out for now. Scholes eventually gives up the hold.
Jaa wants to get back to his feet.

Scholes is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Scholes extends the arm and Jaa is forced to tap!

Seany Scholes really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Ultimate Fighting Gear logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
