Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pat Sumrall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reijo Rymy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rymy has chosen Lily Allen - Fuck You as his entrance music. Reijo Rymy acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 20 - 0, fighting out of London, Pat Sumrall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Reijo Rymy!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sumrall tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rymy swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Sumrall rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rymy moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Sumrall's corner calls for a 1-2. Sumrall obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Sumrall forces Rymy back against the cage and clinches.
Rymy managing to block the knees to the body from Sumrall.

Rymy manages to break the clinch.
Pat Sumrall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sumrall tries to close the distance and clinch but Rymy swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Rymy avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Sumrall lands with a nice body punch.

Sumrall fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rymy, pushing him back against the cage.
Sumrall is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Rymy is defending well for now.
Rymy can't get the takedown.
Sumrall looks to throw an elbow but misses.

Rymy works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Rymy trying to control the position from guard on top but Sumrall is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rymy stops Sumrall from standing up.

Sumrall is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Rymy slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Rymy connects with a couple of short punches.
Rymy not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Sumrall keeping moving, preventing Rymy from controlling successfully.
Sumrall is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Rymy dives into side control.

Rymy is looking to take a break and control but Sumrall is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Rymy is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Sumrall's shoulder. That is not cool.

Sumrall tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Sumrall rolls, trying to escape but Rymy keeps control of the position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rymy is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Sumrall has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Sumrall is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Rymy asserts his dominance and retains side control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Rymy takes the fight into the clinch.
Rymy wants a takedown.
Sumrall looks to throw an elbow but misses.

Rymy gets control of Sumrall's arms and successfully pulls guard. Rymy will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Rymy controls Sumrall momentarily but Sumrall frees himself.

Rymy has his feet on Sumrall's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Sumrall fails in his attempt to clinch.
Reijo Rymy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Rymy manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Sumrall on his heels. He'll look to pass Sumrall's guard now, I'm sure.

Sumrall wants to stand up but Rymy is controlling him.

Sumrall is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Sumrall wants to stand up but Rymy is controlling the position.
Sumrall is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Reijo Rymy has got the better of the ground game so far.
Sumrall tries to stand and escape but Rymy actually recovers to full guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sumrall accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Sumrall tries to stand but Rymy is controlling from the bottom.
Sumrall lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Sumrall got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rymy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sumrall has managed to get both his arms back between Rymy's legs - danger averted.

Rymy shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sumrall as he jumps to the side.

Pat Sumrall has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Reijo Rymy.

Sumrall buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Pat Sumrall is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Rymy shoots for a double leg takedown but Sumrall sprawls well. He's pushed Rymy's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Rymy shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sumrall sprawls well. Sumrall wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rymy gets slowly back to his feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Sumrall enables Rymy to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Sumrall manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Rymy wants to control from the top but Sumrall keeps moving.
Sumrall is looking to stand up but Rymy isn't so interested in that idea.
Rymy is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Let's hope that Rymy has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Reijo Rymy hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Sumrall misses with a wild body shot.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A left and a right from Sumrall both land. Nice combination.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Sumrall lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Sumrall pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rymy lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Reijo Rymy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Sumrall's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Rymy shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Sumrall is trying to defend but Rymy finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.


It looks like Pat Sumrall has been cut.
Sumrall tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Rymy manages to move to mount!

Rymy decides to stand and escape the position.
Rymy slips a jab and a cross from Sumrall.
Sumrall tries to bum rush Rymy with a series of wild strikes but Rymy uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Sumrall looks to score with a jab to the body but Rymy is just out of range.
Sumrall fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Rymy looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Sumrall has managed to clinch.

Rymy has hold of one of Sumrall's legs. Sumrall is fighting the takedown attempt but Rymy gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Sumrall has his foot on Rymy's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rymy works his way back into a safe position though.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Rymy lands a nice short elbow.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rymy takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Sumrall is in all sorts of trouble here.
Sumrall is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
