Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Charlie De Smet!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Douglas Quaid!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Daniel Blasius and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - De Smet looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Quaid shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. De Smet defends it nicely.
Quaid shoots in for a double leg but De Smet sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
De Smet closes the distance and lands a one-two.

De Smet clinches up with Quaid and pushes him back against the cage.
Quaid wants a takedown but no success here.
Charlie De Smet has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Douglas Quaid.
De Smet is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Quaid tries to pull guard but De Smet forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
De Smet lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.


It looks like Douglas Quaid has been cut.
De Smet lands with a left to the head.

De Smet manages to break the clinch.
De Smet misses with a looping left.
Quaid avoids a punch combination nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Quaid fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
De Smet misses with a body shot.
Quaid shoots in for a double leg but De Smet sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Quaid looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Quaid scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Quaid is looking for a kimura but De Smet is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Quaid to get the leverage.
De Smet wants to control the action here but instead Quaid manages to pass to full mount!
Quaid avoids the attempt from De Smet to control.
Quaid putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Quaid tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

De Smet has left one of his arms exposed and Quaid doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. De Smet screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Douglas Quaid!
Our winner, Douglas Quaid, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
