Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Danza Kuduro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jamie Gillis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kuduro comes to the cage accompanied by Don Omar - Danza Kuduro. Gillis has chosen I Don't Feel Like Dancing - Scissor Sisters as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 5 - 1, fighting out of New York, Danza Kuduro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jamie Gillis!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A swing and a miss from Kuduro.
A shot to the body from Gillis misses
and Kuduro counters with an inside leg kick.
Gillis checks a leg kick nicely.
Gillis stuns Kuduro with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Gillis throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Gillis throws a combination that misses
and Kuduro counters with a leg kick.
Kuduro slips a straight right by Gillis.
Gillis tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kuduro paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Kuduro takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Gillis moves into the clinch successfully.
Gillis prevents a body shot from Kuduro.
Gillis blocks an uppercut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gillis goes for a takedown attempt but Kuduro pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Kuduro defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gillis.
Jamie Gillis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kuduro throws a nice outside leg kick.
Gillis sizes up Kuduro with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Gillis throws a jab but it's blocked by Kuduro.
Kuduro's jab looks to have found its range, popping Gillis under the eye.


It looks like Jamie Gillis has been cut.
Gillis looks to score with a jab to the body but Kuduro is just out of range.
Kuduro throws the left hand but Gillis avoids the punch easily.
Kuduro lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Gillis looks winded!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kuduro scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Gillis misses with a left hand
and Kuduro counters with a slapping leg kick.
Gillis missing with a left hand there. Kuduro was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Kuduro dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Gillis. That did some damage!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gillis chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kuduro can pounce on him.
Kuduro swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
The fighters circling - Gillis throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
A nice inside leg kick there by Kuduro. That's going to slow Gillis down.
Gillis tries to move into range but Kuduro moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Kuduro lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Gillis head around and knocks him out cold! Kuduro hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Danza Kuduro!
A relieved looking Danza Kuduro thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
