Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Santiago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trevor Price (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Santiago comes to the cage accompanied by Kanye West - Stronger. Price has chosen Destroy Everything - Hatebreed as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Trevor Price!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Josh West and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Price swings away with a body shot that misses
and Santiago counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Santiago wants to clinch up but Price keeps it at a distance.
Price scores with a nice body kick.
Santiago throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Price moves away from the strike by Santiago.
Santiago stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Price.
Price fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Santiago is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Price misses with a head kick.
Price thumps Santiago with a low kick.
Santiago lands a really nice looking cross but Price seems unphased.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Santiago is trying hard to land a takedown here. Price sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Trevor Price seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That kick from Price tenderised Santiago's leg. Santiago is trying to keep his angry face on.
Santiago doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Santiago shoots in looking for a takedown. Price tries to sprawl out of it but Santiago keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Price manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Santiago is looking to take a break and control but Price is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Price is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Santiago's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Santiago's back!

Price doesn't have the hooks in and Santiago manages to turn into his guard.
Price wants to sweep but no luck.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Price can't keep his opponent in guard - Santiago advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Price trying to control but Santiago postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Price throws a shot to the body.
Santiago checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Price with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Price walks into a stiff left hand from Santiago.
Price tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Price misses with a wild body shot.
Price fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Santiago has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Santiago looks to clinch
and Price counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Price connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Santiago is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Price throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Price just misses with a elbow thrown towards Santiago's brow.

Santiago looks to land a right hand but Price moved out of range.
Santiago throws a jab but it's blocked by Price.
Santiago tries to close the distance and clinch but Price swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Trevor Price seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Price ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Santiago moves away.
Price lets loose with a powerful body kick. Santiago will feel that in the morning.

and Santiago counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Santiago.

Price trying to stall but Santiago improves his position.
Santiago pushes Price back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Price throws an elbow that misses.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Santiago drops down looking for an ankle pick but Price pulls his leg out and moves away.
Price throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Santiago's head.
Price is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Santiago rather than just go for the knockout.

Santiago closes this distance looking for a takedown but Price circles away.
Price pivots, looking for a leg kick but Santiago is out of range and Price settles back down.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Price.

Santiago closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Price is looking to reverse the position.
Price really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Santiago. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Price is being controlled here.
Price on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Santiago throws an elbow but Price slips to the side and avoids it well.
Price is not content to let Santiago control the position.
Santiago has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Santiago throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Price works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Santiago wants to free his trapped foot but Price is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Santiago looks to land a strike but Price avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Trevor Price is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Santiago stands and throws Price's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Santiago tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Santiago has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Bobby Santiago has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Santiago goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Price rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Santiago's guard! Nice work there by Price!
