With a record of 8 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Alexander Lansing!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Roger Salmon and Paul Gruel.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cortez tries to clinch but Lansing is having none of it.
Lansing misses with a series of wild punches.
A decent looking cross lands there for Cortez.
Lansing tried to score with a low kick but Cortez checks it.
Cortez turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Lansing attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Lansing throws a front kick aimed at Cortez's knee but Cortez avoids it well.
Lansing looks to land a right hand but Cortez moved out of range.
Lansing connects with a looping right hand.
Cortez keeps the fight on the outside.
Cortez keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Cortez misses with an attempted mid kick.
Cortez doesn't manage to clinch there - Lansing circles away.
Lansing scores with a decent looking hook.
Cortez walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lansing walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Cortez checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Cortez avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lansing uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Cortez.
Cortez throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lansing looks to land a body kick but Cortez moved away.
Cortez takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Cortez connects with a high kick.
Cortez misses with a body shot.
Lansing tried to score with a low kick but Cortez checks it.
Alexander Lansing seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cortez throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Lansing throws a quick inside leg kick.
Lansing connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Nice body punch from Cortez.
Lansing takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Lansing with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Cortez to score with a decent uppercut.

Lansing throws a leg kick which misses Cortez's front leg but catches the back leg as Cortez tries to avoid it.
Lansing rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Cortez connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Cortez throws a sloppy head kick and Lansing moves out of range easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Some bone on bone action there as Cortez checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Cortez goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Lansing uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Cortez.
Lansing moves away from the strike by Cortez.
Cortez tries to land a front kick but Lansing steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Lansing lands with a straight right. Cortez didn't see that one coming.
Lansing throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Lansing jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Lansing throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Cortez tumbling to the canvas!

Cortez is rocked!

It looks like Tico Cortez has been cut.
Cortez is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Oh Cortez is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lansing connects with a couple of short punches.
Lansing trying to control the position from guard on top but Cortez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lansing postures up in Cortez's guard and throws a big left but Cortez blocks it.
Cortez avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Lansing passes easily into side control. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lansing in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Cortez looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Lansing turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
