PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Per Aukko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Konoe Boganzi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boganzi is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by CkY - 96 Quite Bitter Beings. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Per Aukko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Konoe Boganzi!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big right from Aukko misses.

Boganzi gets the takedown into side control.

Boganzi swings around for an armbar but Aukko sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Boganzi's guard.
Boganzi is trying to control the position but Aukko postures up.

Aukko wants to lay and pray for a moment but Boganzi keeps working.
Aukko wants to stand but Boganzi has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Aukko fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Boganzi.
Aukko keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Aukko pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Boganzi seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Aukko misses with an uppercut.
Boganzi misses with a takedown attempt - Aukko sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Per Aukko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Konoe Boganzi.
Boganzi is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Aukko tries to kick Boganzi off but Boganzi keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Boganzi is trying to work for a kimura but Aukko is defending well.
Boganzi takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Aukko is refusing to be controlled, as Boganzi sits in half guard.
Aukko tries to roll over but Boganzi keeps him under control.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Aukko fails with an attempt to clinch.
Aukko fails to land with a series of punches.
Boganzi is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Konoe Boganzi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Boganzi gets the takedown into side control.

Boganzi is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Aukko has escaped the position, nice work there.
Boganzi passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Aukko!

Boganzi moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Aukko has worked his arm free - good work by Aukko!
Aukko is trying to control Boganzi's posture but Boganzi avoids it.

Boganzi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Aukko keeps working.
Boganzi tries to advance to mount but Aukko denies him.

Boganzi decides to stand back up. Boganzi steps back and let's Aukko get back to his feet.
A left and a right from Boganzi both land. Nice combination.


It looks like Per Aukko has been cut.

Boganzi closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Boganzi lands in his opponent's guard.

Boganzi looking to sit in guard and control but Aukko gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Boganzi can do anything to dispel that myth.

Aukko blocks the strikes from Boganzi.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Aukko in particular looking to stall.

Aukko has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Boganzi.
Boganzi shoots in and drives through. Aukko sprawls well.

and Aukko counters with a big head kick but Boganzi shrugs it off.

Boganzi fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Aukko, pushing him back against the cage.
Boganzi wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Aukko has him pressed against the cage.
Aukko is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Aukko fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Boganzi wants to get back to striking at distance but Aukko won't allow it.
Boganzi stalling in the clinch but Aukko improves position.
Boganzi tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Per Aukko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Konoe Boganzi.

Aukko pulls Boganzi into guard.

Boganzi postures up in Aukko's guard and throws a big left but Aukko blocks it.
Boganzi is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Aukko looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Boganzi advances to half guard.
Boganzi tries to pass the half guard into mount. Aukko knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Boganzi seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Aukko is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
